Established in 1967, Atlas Galleries has become as firm a fixture on Chicago's luxurious Michigan Avenue as the Water Tower, the Wrigley Building, and the exclusive stores of the Magnificent Mile.
For forty years, Atlas Galleries' founders, the Petr family have guided collectors - both large and small - in acquiring an endless array of magnificent art from the past treasures of the Old Masters to the magnificent works created today by some of the greatest artists of our age.
A stroll through any of Atlas Galleries' two downtown locations will reveal a treasure trove of art that links the past with the present. Out of the past emerge fine etchings by Rembrandt, Durer, Renoir, and Whistler. Hanging next to these works, you will find today's masterpieces by contemporary world-class artists including Botello, Boulanger, Gaugy, sculptor Ruth Bloch, Chicago artist Michael Cheney and the surreal-realist, Frederick Phillips.
Joining these ranks to take Atlas Galleries into the next millennium is a dynamic line-up of talented young artists whose imagery speaks to a new generation of collectors, including acrylic sculptor Michael Wilkinson, romantic impressionist Viktor Shvaiko and contemporary artist Mackenzie Thorpe. These artists lead us into the future confident of their vision, which like Atlas Galleries itself, is firmly established in the knowledge and traditions of the past.
Atlas Galleries employs a team of artistically literate and knowledgeable consultants whose priority is to assist and advise collectors both old and new, helping them to establish or add to art collections that will last for generations. At both elegant locations in Chicago, the friendly staff of Atlas Galleries are always ready to greet collectors and browsers alike with a warm welcome.
The art featured on our website is constantly being uploaded and represents only a small percentage of what we have in stock. We have an extensive inventory ranging from contemporary to classic.
