Angel Botello was born in 1913 in Cangas de Morrazo, Spain and lived most of his life in Puerto Rico and Haiti. Botello is most well known for his sophisticated whimsy in his renderings of women and children. Beautiful line work, exquisite color palettes, and bold patterns are the tenets of his long career. Angel Botello passed away in 1986, leaving behind an enduring legacy as an artist in both the Latin American art community and in the art world at large. Atlas Galleries is proud to have worked closely with Angel during his life and continues to preserve his legacy with a beautiful presentation of paintings, prints and sculptures.
