Capri Boats
Howard Behrens
Howard Behrens' paintings have a specific goal, a singular intent, no matter what the subject matter-that is to bring the pleasure of being alive to the foreground of our awareness. From the flowerpot on a windowsill to the boats in a harbor, he invites us to see the gift in the moment, to see with new eyes the vivid color of the earth's palette.

He paints to bring visual delight, and the result is a visual vocabulary for pleasure, gratitude, warmth, and romance. His work is not the studied details of a realist or the broad, sweeping strokes of an impressionist-the world of Howard Behrens is a world that warms our soal and awakens our hearts' desires. Howard Behrens brings us a world of transforming sunlight, an invitation to embrace beauty, pleasure, and joy.
